A key client, (low-cost tin/tungsten/lithium producer) required an ESG Manager to be based at their HQ in Johannesburg.
The mandate was to attract a credible ESG/HSEC professional with a track record of leading, designing, managing, and evaluating sustainable strategies and programs within an African mining context. They would also have a strong knowledge of social and community issues. Additionally, it was advantageous if the person had a junior company mindset with experience establishing systems and processes from scratch.
Although our search covered a global market, we targeted individuals who had successfully worked in Africa in the junior/mid-tier mining space. (We identified over 50 suitable profiles. In total, 9 candidates were long-listed and 4 were shortlisted.
