Rowan has 10 years’ resources industry experience supporting global companies’ senior executives and site-based management teams within the mining, Oil & Gas, and renewable energy market, including six years as Talent Director at a NASDAQ-listed engineering consulting/EPCM firm both in Canada and the United Kingdom. Originally from Montréal, Canada, and fully bilingual in English and French, Rowan has been instrumental in supporting large scale resources staffing projects globally, particularly within Africa, Asia, North America, and South America. His passion for people and mining has allowed him to become an expert across the mining life cycle, from exploration, greenfield startup construction projects, brownfields expansions and mining operations. His experience also includes remote artic project development and government-funded aid projects (MCC/DFID/USAID/DFAT). Specializing in business and candidate management, Rowan heads up Stratum’s HQ-based team in London. Rowan holds a Bachelor of Economics and an MBA in Global Leadership.

Nicky has 15-years experience in international recruitment and HR, including three years as a global HR Coordinator for BP in London, UK. Over the last 12 years, Nicky’s focus shifted exclusively to the global mining recruitment industry, having successfully placed more than 180 mining professionals. Specialising in management and technical mining recruitment, Nicky has forged an excellent reputation amongst leadership and site-based technical professionals. Nicky’s experience includes exploration, greenfield startup projects, producing mines and HQ roles. Clients include leading major, mid-tier and junior miners, as well as EPCM’s and suppliers. An excellent account manager and candidate delivery consultant, she is a trusted partner and advisor to tier 1 professionals in the industry.

Will is a mining industry entrepreneur and experienced management consultant with a network of senior professionals from across the sector. His contacts include Executive/Board, NED’s, functional corporate leaders and managers in operations and project development at site. He also works extensively with the mining finance community, including Private Equity firms, trading houses, funds, banks, family offices and associated mining investors including advising on deals, particularly during PE due diligence processes. In a career spanning sixteen years, Will has delivered consultancy, executive search, mining recruitment and advisory services to a global client base spanning every continent and more than 45 countries and has helped generate significant shareholder value. Before founding Stratum International in 2012, Will established and managed the International and Emerging Markets Mining Desk for a NASDAQ-listed executive search firm.

Linda has more than 12 years of international mining industry experience, including seven years in-house with First Quantum Minerals, a mid-tier copper producer. Her expertise spans the complete mining cycle, from the early development stages through the project phase to operations staffing for mega greenfield mining projects and sites around the globe. Her experience spans all continents, where she has helped mining companies find the right skills and cultural matches. Linda has a particular strength in South and Central America, Africa, Europe and Australia. Linda is based out of Stratum’s office in Cape Town, South Africa.

Camilla has worked in international Executive Search since 2018, initially specialising in Government, Regulation and Finance working on C-suite and Board placements. Camilla was drawn to the global nature of the mining industry, having lived in six countries. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and Portuguese from the University of Bristol, and also speaks French. She has used her languages to support placements in the Americas and West Africa. Camilla is based out of Stratum’s HQ in London and specialises in working with mining professionals in site-based leadership including General Managers, Mine Managers and direct reports.

Annelize has nearly 20 years’ HR and Recruitment experience, including the last 10 years in mining. She started her career as a Management & Development Consultant, and became an Assessments and Psychometrics expert with companies including Daimler-Chrysler and Vodacom, before commencing a career in recruitment. Her resources industry experience includes Fluor’s TRS Staffing, as well as extensive mining recruitment consultancy experience. Over the last decade, her mining recruitment experience has helped her develop extensive networks at senior level through her focus on technical leadership hiring across the globe.

Jessie has six years’ experience consulting C-suite and management teams on their hiring needs, particularly within the Finance and Human Resources, including placements within FTSE 100 businesses across a multitude of sectors. Having graduated in International Relations and with a passion for languages and international business, Jessie is fluent in Punjabi, Urdu, Hindi, and Gujrati, and currently learning Mandarin and Arabic. Her reputation for building relationships, candidate management, and referrals means she is a trusted consultant working with candidates of the highest calibre. Jessie is based out of Stratum’s HQ in London and specialises in working with mining professionals in HQ and site leadership including Finance, HR, and Commercial.

Lisa brings over twelve years’ experience of general administration and business management to the role from various recruitment sectors including Finance, IT, Change Management and Science. Her background includes compliance and management of all types of recruitment but most notably permanent and contractor placement. She has extensive experience supporting senior-level executive, international teams as well as the running of business operations, with an emphasis on IT, HR and General Management. Lisa’s main function at Stratum is to ensure a smooth running of day to day operations, providing the best possible service for all stakeholders, internal or external. She is responsible for all operations, financial, IT and HR management, including consistency with all policies and procedures within the business. Her other experience includes project management, business consultancy and event management.

Lydia is a data compliance expert in the recruitment industry. She holds compliance and corporate governance qualifications and has worked in various recruitment sectors, including Engineering, Finance, IT, and Healthcare. With a passion for compliance and a specific emphasis on GDPR and POPIA within recruitment, she has expertise in endorsing accountability and responsibility around data processing and storage. Lydia’s primary function at Stratum is ensuring data is securely monitored and maintained across Stratum’s internal platforms, ensuring alignment with industry regulations, and displaying best practice guidelines, policies and procedures.

Prior to working at Stratum, Lorihann worked as a research and marketing strategist at a Tech start-up. She holds a BA degree in Social Dynamics from Stellenbosch University. Lorihann’s main function as a Data Administrator is to ensure that Stratum’s database is compliant, well-structured and accurate, as well as providing valuable data support across the company. Her experience and attitude towards assembling data in a compliant and conscientiousness manner is an invaluable asset to Stratum. She has a love of organizational dynamics and theory and is passionate about working in the mining recruitment industry. Based out of the Cape Town office, she works as part of the Data Team.

Zanele is a Data administrator with a passion for data compliance. She plays a vital role in ensuring that the Company database is accurate, current and in line with GDPR and POPIA regulations. Zanele has a background in research, data capturing and arranging networking events in the mining industry, and this is how she became drawn to the mining sector. She is meticulous by nature and uses this trait to guarantee that value is added to our Company database by ensuring that our data is constantly maintained. Her positive approach and attention to detail are valued attributes within the Cape Town Data team.

An experienced business owner and chairman with over 25 years in the recruitment industry, Justin has extensive expertise in business growth and expansion, as well as business turnaround and disposal, both domestically and abroad. In 2003, he founded Human Capital, a boutique executive search firm focussed on the mid and downstream Energy and Natural Resource sector based in London. Under his leadership, the company grew internationally, with offices in Geneva, Houston, New York, Sao Paulo, Singapore, Hong Kong and Sydney. Following a successful MBO in 2017, Justin moved from CEO to Non-Executive Chairman. In 2019  Justin set up Hyvve, a boutique management consultancy focussed on the recruitment sector.  Creating Hyvve has enabled Justin to work with a broad range of staffing organisations, combining his love of business with his experience over the past two decades as a recruitment business owner.

Formerly a Regional Managing Partner (Europe) at Heidrick & Struggles, his activities span executive recruiting, coaching and board advisory work. Bryan is based in London, UK, and is the founder of The Digital Board, a leading boutique Executive Search and Advisory firm in the technology sector. He has conducted hundreds of Executive Search mandates, including conducting more than 6000 interviews and more than 500 CEO and Exec team briefings.
