As a Finance Manager at Stratum International, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial health of our organization. You will play a key role in budget planning, financial forecasting, and the management of financial policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Xero and capable of leveraging this platform to enhance our financial reporting and decision-making processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the finance department including: month and end-year process, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, trust account statement reconciliations, debt activity, etc.
• Monitor and analyse accounting data to produce accurate, monthly financial reports and statements.
• Prepare and submit invoices, including credit control.
• Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
• Prepare consolidated accounts across multiple jurisdictions including Australia and South Africa.
• Process expense and payroll.
• Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
• Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy if required.
• Meet financial accounting objectives.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Prepare cash flow and budgets in line with business needs.
• Proficiency in Xero for financial management tasks, including integrations that help streamline company finances.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
• Proven experience as a Financial Manager or a similar role withing the UK.
• Extensive understanding of financial trends both within the company and general market patterns.
• Proficient user of finance software, specifically Xero.
• Strong understanding of data privacy standards.
• Solid communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Deep understanding of business principles and practices.
• Superior attention to detail; organizational skills; planning skills; research skills; analytical skills; critical thinking skills; problem-solving skills; computer skills; multi-tasking abilities.
