Today is Mandela Day, and our teams in South Africa and the UK gave 67 minutes of service in support of local communities.
In the UK, Caitlin McLintock, Ella van Akkooi and Palesa Maloka (visiting from our Cape Town office) volunteered with Brighton Food Bank, part of Brighton and Hove City Mission. It was an eye-opening opportunity to learn how they support individuals and families facing financial crisis with dignity and compassion. As demand continues to rise in the UK (up 30% this year) the work done by their fantastic team is more vital than ever.
Meanwhile, in Cape Town, Nicky Stubbs, Zanele Joka and Palo Phokojoe joined the Mandela Day 2025 event at DHL Stadium hosted by Ladles of Love, helping craft soft toy pillow dolls for children in need. They provide nutritious food to vulnerable communities, support local farmers in growing wholesome produce, and empower food entrepreneurs to build businesses that create jobs.
